Volunteer coaches are the backbone of Pelham Park and Recreation's youth sports leagues, and more people are always needed to step up to the plate.

State Park Road - Future Roundabout

Although there have been delays due to weather, Shelby County's State Park Road construction project is about 50-percent complete. "The percentage is deceiving because that number can change drastically depending on the weather, " said Trey Gauntt, Manager of Facilities and General Services for Shelby County.

Highway 52 Bridge Construction

Shelby County's Buck Creek Bridge project on County Road 52 is well underway, with work estimated at 60-percent complete. Shelby County Engineer Randy Cole said the old bridge, built in 1948, was long due for replacement. "The structure was getting in bad shape and too narrow for traffic. It was time to replace it." This section of roadway is one of the main thoroughfares between Pelham and Helena.
